Outdoors: Burgess Falls, Sparta
Happy Saturday Y’all!
This has been a heck of a week traveling across the greatest state in America. In another one of our stops this week, we headed to our 3rd Tennessee State Park.
In seven days. Burgess Falls is one of my personal favorites.
This 130 foot cascading waterfall is one of 4 in the State Park that also doubles as a State Natural Area. The hike in isn’t bad and while there is a hike from the overlook to the top of the falls (be careful if there is a lot of flow), the only way to reach the bottom is by kayak or canoe up the Falling Water River.
Located literally on the edge of Putnum and White County, this is one of the more popular parks in the area so get there a little early or late to beat the crowds. All of this again is less than 90 mins from the great Chattanooga and a nice respite out of town.
Now, we are off to Mayor Kevin Brooks hometown for the famous Hot Slaw Festival taking place today in the Cleveland town square.
Y’all go be Tennesseans this week and see what your great state has to offer!
