Community CADAS 60th Anniversary, Chattanooga

Happy Monday Y’all!

This weekend we celebrated the 60th Anniversary of CADAS Chattanooga at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center downtown.  Most of us in the #chattanooga area are familiar with the work CADAS does to help people with alcohol and substance use disorder but few of us know how deep their touch in the community goes.

There are close to 150 staffers who dedicate their lives to the betterment of others.  In the past 6 months, CADAS has been fortunate enough to receive grants from the TN Dept of Mental Health and Substance Abuse and the Tennessee Housing Development Agency totaling 5 million dollars that will fund construction of new apartments and beds that will bring CADAS closer to its goal of On Demand Treatment in our community.

Huge thanks to Paul Fuchcar for his incredible leadership for our organization and to Deputy Commissioner Matt Yancey and Katie Moore from Tennessee Housing Development Agency for their willingness to take time out of their weekend to celebrate with us! They were joined by the City’s Chief of Staff Jermaine Freeman and Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp as well.

Y’all go be Tennesseans this week and help somebody struggling!
