Outdoors: Pickett CCC State Park, Jamestown

Happy Thursday Y’all!

We have made a lot of progress in our goal to see all 95 counties with the boys this year and are well past half way.  Check out our trip to Pickett State Park in Pickett County close to Jamestown.

Super cool history to the construction of the park under the CCC or Civilian Conservation Corp during the Great Depression in one of FDR’s New Deal programs to put Americans back to work.

There is a super cool mix of trails along the ridge above the lake as well as one of the best natural bridges in the Tennessee State Parks system.  It is also a part of the Dark Sky International program that offers expansive nighttime views not generally seen in Tennessee.

Note that Pickett has had some recent storm damage so check their website before you go.

Y’all go be Tennesseans this week and see what your great state has to offer!
