Outdoors: Henry Horton State Park, Chapel Hill

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

Check out our visit to Marshall County to visit Henry Horton State Park in Chapel Hill, Tennessee.

This incredible Tennessee State Parks site was originally the estate of the former Governor of Tennessee Henry Horton. In 1962, Governor Buford Ellington designated the park open for family use.  It sits on the famous Duck River and contains a great set of facilities including a golf course, new restaurant and bar and renovated rooms at the lodge.

We hiked on the Wilhoite Mill Trail (thanks AllTrails ) to see the remnants of the Horton Family Mill.  Henry Horton is a truly beautiful place and only a short drive from Nashville.

Y’all go be Tennesseans and see what your great state has to offer!
