Eats/Event: Bell Buckle Cafe & Daffodil Day, Bell Buckle
Happy Monday Y’all!
This weekend marked the unofficial 2024 start to the Tennessee festival season with the annual Daffodil Day in Bell Buckle hosted by the Bell Buckle Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by LJA Engineering.
Side note: Bell Buckle must be a dream come true for TN Dept. of Economic and Community Development for the amount of revenue it brings in versus its annual population.
Bell Buckle is an incredible community that has been hosting this festival since the early 1970’s to celebrate the 6 miles of Daffodils planted on the road into the town of less than 500. Started partially as an endeavor by the founder of the Webb School to teach students (like yours truly) patience and hard working by planting Daffodils, the tradition has continued for decades.
We got to take in an incredible lunch at the Famous Bell Buckle Cafe on the town square, which was one of our favorite meals in #tennessee this year and we took in the competition for best Daffodil at the Community Hall. Bedford County may seem a bit off the beaten path but it was truly an incredible experience as my wife got to shop, the boys got Kettle Corn and we filled out bellies on meatloaf and Oatmeal Cake before heading down the road to hike it off at Old Stone Fort State Park for some waterfalling. Bell Buckle will be in our future once again!
Y’all go be Tennesseans this week and see what your great state has to offer!!!
