Community: Leadership Tennessee NEXT x TDMHSAS, Chattanooga
Incredible gathering of Leadership Tennessee NEXT Class VIII today at @cityofchattanooga City Hall to hear some of Tennessee’s brightest minds in the field of mental health. Big thanks to Mayor Tim Kelly for letting us use his space!
Moderated by Miles Huff , the panel included Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Commissioner Marie Williams, who has been a tireless advocate, the great Paul Fuchcar of CADAS Chattanooga, Deputy TDMHSAS Commissioner Matt Yancey, Moccasin Bend Mental Health Institute CEO Mary Young and finally Deputy TDMHSAS Commissioner Heather Gunderson.
Under the leadership of Governor Bill Lee and the Tennessee Legislature, we have begun to see some real progress in addictions and mental health in our state. Resources are being committed to beds, programming, workforce development and the like. Gov. Lee’s commitment to this cause has been truly unwavering.
Mental illness and addiction go hand in hand and over 90 percent of Tennesseans are affected. If you or someone you know is having a mental health crisis, call the statewide Crisis Line at 855-CRISIS-1 or 855-274-7471.
Y’all go be Tennesseans this week and help somebody in need!
