Community: Cherokee Area Council Boy Scouts Luncheon, Chattanooga

The Annual Cherokee Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America Luncheon at the Chattanooga Convention Center took place today featuring NFL and broadcasting legend Joe Theismann who gave an impassioned speech about giving the next generation of American leaders a foundation to build on. Incoming Downtown Chattanooga Rotary Club President Doug Thompson was even kind enough to take a photo with me!

As a former boy scout Joe spoke about the need for scouting to keep growing. Locally, our area has grown 19 percent in the last two years under the incredible leadership of Breakfast Club’s Inquisition Chairman Jared Pickens. 

Local Eagle Scouts helped emcee the event and showcased the excellent work they are doing in our community to enrich lives of our young men and women.

Side note: Jay Dale has excellent hands for a Big Man.
