Around Town: Chattanooga Rotary Club featuring Stephanie Stuckey

Happy Thursday Y’all!

What a treat today at Chattanooga Rotary Club as Stephanie Stuckey came to talk about her attempt to resurrect her family’s nostalgic piece of Americana.

Stuckey’s was a staple of the American Road Trip for decades but was sold in the 1980’s outside the family and suffered like a lot of similar businesses that are no longer family controlled.

In 2019, she had the opportunity to purchase the remainder of the brand using her Grandfather’s lessons to restore that emotional connection that so many Americans had with the brand.

As we have traveled across Tennessee with the family this year, the best experiences have been with places that treated us like family. Stephanie Stuckey told us their family had a slogan, “Every traveler is a friend”. She followed it up by saying what I tell people all the time, “embrace change”.

Those aren’t just good business lessons, they are good life lessons. And yes, everyone was given a Pecan Log Roll……..
