Outdoors: Kuwohi

The highest point in Tennessee is about the only place to stay cool this week. It was over 80 degrees when we left Chattanooga and it was 45 degrees on top of the former Clingman’s Dome.

The spot was renamed in 2024 to reflect the Native American heritage of the peak and is now called Kuwohi after a successful lobbying effort by the Cherokee Nation.

It is inspiring and the views make you understand its significance to the area.
