Attraction: Andrew Johnson National Historic Site, Greeneville
Happy Tuesday Y’all!
Did you know there are three Presidents from the great state of Tennessee? In the last year, we have traveled to the Hermitage and Columbia Tennessee to see Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage and James K Polk’s home so we figured we should use our Greene County stop to check out the 17th President Andrew Johnson’s home in Greeneville!
This cool NPS site is located in a couple different spots separating the national cemetery, where his family is buried, and downtown where his tailor shop and home place were located.
Andrew Johnson National Historic Site has a neat museum that tells the story of his ascension to the Presidency after Lincoln’s assassination and his title as the first President to ever be impeached.
Y’all go check out beautiful Greeneville if you get the chance and learn about your great state!
