Attraction: American Museum of Science & Energy
Happy Monday Y’all!
Check out our visit to the American Museum of Science & Energy in Oak Ridge that tells the incredible story of “The Secret City” and its history with the Manhattan Project, Nuclear Energy and the great state of Tennessee!
Fun fact: almost the entire Oak Ridge area is inside the Manhattan Project National Park footprint. This vast expanse takes up parts of Anderson and Roane County and is still home to some of the brightest minds not only in America but in the world at large.
Tennessee rarely gets enough credit for its contributions to the scientific community but it is the home to @oakridgelab and the world’s fastest super computer in addition to being one of the pioneer sites for the development of nuclear energy in America which is efficient and keeps our energy bills low.
The Oak Ridge is less than 2 hours from the Chattanooga and is the home to Big Ed’s Pizza so don’t skip it!
Y’all go be Tennesseans this week and see what your great state has to offer!
