Community: Soddy Daisy Community Breakfast, Chattanooga
First Saturday of the month is always the best Saturday of the month as thats when the best community breakfast in Chattanooga takes place.
The Soddy Daisy Fire Department Station 1 Breakfast has been one of the best community minded groups in our area for years. It has become a hub for knowledge in the community and a showcase for the extraordinary work going on to support its residents.
Today we heard reports from the Hamilton County Sheriff Austin Garrett who championed the filing of SRO positions in every school in the county including Charter Schools. They filled 19 positions in the last year becoming the FIRST county in Tennessee with that accomplishment.
Sheriff Garrett praised the hard work of our delegation in Nashville led by Representative Patsy Hazlewood for funding salaries for these security officers to protect the children of our state.
Finally, (and this is what makes Soddy so great), we heard a report from Alan Gram of Soddy Daisy Food Bank who told the crowd they served over 400,000 meals in 2023 to over 10,000 underprivileged residents in our community.
It is truly inspiring to attend such a great event on a dreary morning to uplift the remainder of your day!
It matters who governs.
Y’all go be Tennesseans this weekend and see the good works happening in your state!
